Firstly
In japan, all groups have the same programme in Tokyo. After the programme in Tokyo, Participants are divide into several groups for programme in provincial area in Japan. We devided into four groups A, B, C, and D.
Group A and B (Prefecture Chiba), Group C (Prefecture Osaka), Group D (Prefecture Okayama).
Group A Chiba
I was
participant in Grup A Prefecture Chiba. Here we visited any placed according to
our subyek. We visited various places in Japan which are : Edo Tokyo Museum,
Kamogawa city Goverment office, Maiwai Suzusen, Kamogawa Fishing Port, Ice
Factory, House family in the event Farmstay, Buddhist temple, Ohyama Senmaida
Rice Terrace in Tanada Club and etc.
Well I want to share both. First about Maiwai Suzusen (Traditional Craft Product of Chiba Prefecture).
What is MAIWAI?
The Fishing industry has long flourished along the coast of Boso Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture. During the Edo Periode (1630-1868) the Culture of Maiwai (Festive Kimonos to celebrate a good catch) developed among the Fisherman who lived by the sea in that area.
Originally MAIWAI meant just celebrating a good catch, but over time it came to mean the Kimonos that ship owners would distributed to fisherman for celebration of an especially good catch. Actually it was not kimonos but cloth that was distibuted, and fisherman's wives used to make this cloth into long or short kimonos.
MAIWAI include the design symbolizing good luck such as crane, turtle and treasure boat. These design are dyed striklingly vivid colors.
Profil of Mr. Kosuke suzuki
The Process of the MAIWAI Dyeing
· # Draw a rough design on a stencil using a small brush
· # Carve the design on the stencil using small knife
· #Place the stencil with carved design over a cloth and
spread paste over the whole using a spatula (the carved design transfers to the
cloth)
· #Using a paint brush, apply colors inside the contours
formed by the paste with pigments dissolved in soybean juice
· #Pour lukewarm water into a plastic bucket and leave the
cloth to soak for a day. When the paste has come off, shake the cloth lighty,
rinse it with new water and hang it on drying frame without wringing.
Its seems like
making Batik because it requires precision and need a quite high patience. But the
amazing of making Batik that it is done by expert hands and no help engine.
Well, next I
want to share about my experience in Farmstay
Its call Farmstay
because we lived there and also study with pratice how to be a good farmer. Other
group C and D their programme called Homestay. I lived in Sudo’s family house. They
are :
Takehiro Sudo
(Father), Yoshiko Sudo (Mother) Tamaki and Megumi Sudo (Their Cutes Daughter)
Yasuko Sudo (Grandmother) and Etsuko Sudo (Great Grandmother).
I’m very happy
to get an opportunity stay in their home and also interact with them. From this
Farmstay programme I can conclude that Japanese society was disciplined,
Friendly and also Hardworking.
Me and Sudo Family
Well, this is
my first experience join student exchange programme. And I believe I can do
something for the benefit for my country with all maximum efforts. But this is
not enought. Frankly, I am not satiesfied yet with what I did. I can do much better
if I am Trained and developed throught other programme of student exchange.
Alhamdulillah
All Praise be to Allah SWT and I am also very grateful to the Japanese
Goverment, JICE, and the Committee of PPIM UIN Jakarta which gave me the
